St George's is a leading organisation in a collaborative effort to provide housing and hospitality to Syrian refugee families in Greenwich. We work with the Borough Council, the Greenwich Inclusion Project, the Islamic Centre, the Migrant Hub, and several faith and community groups to help support the incoming families as they transition to life in the UK.  There are opportunities for interested people who wish to serve as Settlement Volunteers, counselors and translators, as well as donations of furniture, white goods and other necessities.  We expect to receive twenty (20) families over the next four (4) years, with the first three families arriving in the December of 2017.

The Parish of East Greenwich was one of the founding groups of the Greenwich Winter Night Shelter, which provides food, fellowship and a safe place to sleep during the winter months to homeless people in our community.  St George's is the venue on Tuesday nights, January through March. With the other sites of the Shelter, we serve up to fifteen (15) people per night.
