Christmas 2021

Christmas 2021

We are aware that this Christmas comes with some uncertainty as we continue to work hard to keep each other safe in the midst of the ongoing pandemic. However, we have carefully planned a number of services and events so that hopefully there is something that everyone can engage with.

You are most welcome to join us at all or any of these as together we remember that God came as a baby into the mess and chaos of the world to bring peace and hope to each us.

Saturday 4th Dec @ 4pm: Beer and Carols, outside the Royal Standard

Join us as we sing with traditional Christmas Carols with lanterns outside the pub. The pub will be serving mulled wine and hot chocolate to warm us up!

Saturday 18th Dec @ 4pm: Parish Carols in the park, at the Pleasaunce

The lanterns will be out again as we join with the other churches in the parish and the local community to sing. The café (Pistachios in the Park) will be serving warming drinks and mince pies.

Sunday 19th Dec @ 6pm: Carol Service

Join us for a traditional service of lessons and carols, which will be slightly shortened to make it as safe as possible. This service will include songs by our Christmas Choir.

Friday 24th Dec @ 4pm: Crib Service

A traditional, but again covid safe, crib service, designed especially for children and families or all shapes and sizes.

Friday 24th Dec @ 11:30pm: Midnight Communion

Join as at 11:30pm on Christmas Eve as we welcome in Christmas Day with a peaceful, candlelight service of carols and communion.

Saturday 25th Dec @ 10:30am: Christmas Day Family Communion

An all age service to worship with joy as we remember that first Christmas!

Sunday 26th Dec @ 10:30am: Sunday Morning Communion

On boxing day we will meet for a short service of Holy Communion

Advent Course

Over advent we will be meeting to think about what the waiting and the hope of advent means for us in 2021. Tuesdays at 8pm at The Rectory, 185 Charlton Church Lane, SE7 7AA and Wednesdays at 1:30pm at the church. Do join us for any or all of these.
